O Bagel Gold Coast Review

0 7

The night before my flight I was still looking at other people’s O Bagel posts to tide me over. My expectations were maxed out. Usually when I expect a lot, I’m stricter and the food feels a bit disappointing. This one held up. It was really good.

There are stores on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane, and both have long queues. The Brisbane one is in the city centre, so it’s more convenient to get to. We went to the Gold Coast one. I’m a greedy girl, so of course I ate everything I could.

What we ordered

G’Morning

This is the one that’s recommended most online, and it lives up to it. The bagel is soft and fluffy, and it’s so big I could barely get it all into one bite. The texture is rich. There’s a hash brown inside, and the whole time I kept tasting something crisp and sweet. It turned out to be maple bacon, which is a real plus.

Drop the Beef

I think this is the second most recommended one online. It’s hard to separate the two. The beef one has the more exciting flavour, and it opens up your taste buds straight away. It has a bit of a pulled beef texture, and the sauce tastes savoury, like stir-fried beef. The sauce has a Korean flavour too. It’s big and very filling, more like a proper meal than breakfast. I ate it without saying a word.

Blueberry cream cheese

I got this to take away, meaning to have it for breakfast the next day. I couldn’t hold out and ate half of it that night. The blueberry bagel is chewy. I thought the blueberry cream cheese wasn’t greasy at all, and it tasted good. It’s a step behind the first two, but they’re different flavours so they’re hard to compare.

Prawn Tastic

King prawns, stracciatella and a mildly spicy Tabasco yoghurt sauce. Fresh, spicy and creamy, and well balanced. It’s refreshing and not heavy. I really recommend it.

The matcha

You have to order the matcha. It’s very rich, and it isn’t too sweet or heavy. The first time I ordered the matcha strawberry, and the strawberry jam was too sweet and took over the tea flavour. I’d recommend the plain matcha. I’ve heard the chicken bagel is very good too.

A tip

If I weren’t travelling and wanting to try different places, I’d have eaten every flavour on the menu. If there are a few of you, ask the staff to cut the bagels into four, so you can try more flavours.

Where it is

We went to the Gold Coast store. O Bagel started on the Gold Coast, and there are stores at Broadbeach, at The Oasis (75 Surf Parade, Broadbeach) and at Smith Collective in Southport (Shop C9, 2A Nexus Way). In Brisbane there’s the CBD store at Shop 1/97 Elizabeth Street, and a second one at 153 Stanley Street, South Bank, which opened in January 2026.

More Gold Coast days out: Bim’bimba Park Playground in Pimpama. If you’re in Brisbane, try Kimino in Ashgrove, and the dates for the Queensland break are on our QLD school holidays 2026 page.
