Pixieland M-City Clayton Review

0 5

Went to Pixieland at M-City today. It opened last year, but my kid was too little to play back then, so this year we could finally check it out. Tickets are charged by age. One kid and one adult, 2 hours, plus the train and the online booking fee, came to $36 in total.

The adult ticket can be swapped for a drink, so I got a chai latte, tasted good, and paid 50 cents extra for the difference.

Walk in and the first thing you see is the cute carousel. Then there’s the mini train, the ball pit, slides, a pretend play kitchen, arcade machines, and a make-up room that’s super cute for little girls. The place isn’t huge, but you can tell they put real effort into it. The design has its own character, it’s well kept, and it’s clean.

On top of the above there’s climbing, a supermarket, little cars, dress-ups, a screen game, a Lego wall and a party room. A lot of it has little touches you don’t see at other play centres. The whole thing runs on a pink and purple fairytale theme, and it photographs really well.

The Rides

There’s a carousel, a Ferris wheel and a mini train. They’re all small, but it’s nice to have all three. The Ferris wheel and the train only run at set times, so check when the next one starts. Bigger kids can also play Mario Kart and the water gun monster game, which suits slightly older kids better.

Projection Room and Galaxy Slide

The 3D projection room has interactive projections on the floor and walls, and kids run around chasing the lights. It’s the part of Pixieland I’d remember most. There’s also a pink and purple tunnel slide that drops into a ball pit, which looks great and kept my kid busy.

Party Rooms

Besides the play area, there’s a cafe, and a few really cute party rooms. One of them is a 3D party room. I had a look and it seems perfect for a birthday party. Kids who live nearby are lucky.

Cafe and Staff

The guys at the front desk were really friendly, and the coffee was good too. There’s a seating area so parents can sit down with a drink while the kids play.

Time, Parking and Booking

Two hours is enough for playing and eating. I booked my session online. The wristband has a time limit, so try not to arrive late. For parking, I’d use the underground car park. The one right out the front is free, but only for 1.5 hours.

Worth It?

Overall, good. The place is clean, the equipment feels safe, and the coffee’s nice. It’s not very big, but you can easily fill 2 hours. If you live nearby, a membership works out cheaper, and afterwards you can go downstairs and do the grocery shopping. I’d say it’s best for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, especially kids who like lights, projections, ball pits and dress-ups. If your kid is older and wants big climbing frames and wide open space, it might feel a bit small.
