Elite walked so Netflix’s new Spanish-language soap Olympo could 100-meter sprint.
The series about top athletes at a prestigious training academy has only just premiered today, and it’s already got the internet in a sweat.
While the drama is a true ensemble piece that spends its time with a number of students at the highly competitive prep school—from swimming team captain Amaia (Clara Galle, from the hit Through My Window trilogy) to rugby star Christian (Nuno Gallego, who left quite an impression in Elite‘s final season)—we’ve found our MVP in his teammate Roque, played by the hunky Agustín Della Corte (Society Of The Snow).
How about we take this to the next level?

This should come as no surprise (he is a beefcake gay guy after all), yet Roque’s storyline on the show is also Olympo‘s most complex and compelling, one that grapples with homosexuality and homophobia in the sports world—and, yes, has plenty of steamy intimate scenes.
*Caution: Some spoilers for Olympo‘s first season lie ahead…*
Though Roque’s an incredible athlete and captain of the school’s rugby team, being an out gay man means he can often feel like a bit of a black sheep. Still, that doesn’t stop him from hooking up with guys on the DL, like his supply closet romp with Diego (Gleb Abrosimovv) that gets thwarted by spilled gym chalk.
However, there’s another closeted teammate who Roque really has his eye on: Sebas (Juan Perales). There’s an electric charge between the two that initially goes unspoken, playing out only through stolen glances—that is, until Roque helps the team secure their spot in Spain’s world cup, leading to a celebratory shower scene that leaves the guys (and the viewers at home) all wet.
And, honestly, that moment’s got nothing on a later hot & heavy romp between the two, one that sees Roque on top for the first time and that pushes the boundaries on racy, skin-bearing intimacy without going full-on explicit.
Needless to say, the internet is living for it.
Thankfully Roque’s sexuality isn’t just pushed to the sidelines in the series—it becomes an important part of the story in Olympo‘s first season. His openness causes some tension among his team (sexual, and otherwise), yet it also further thrusts him into the public eye.
Specifically, it catches the attention to the recruiting team at Olympo, a sports apparel brand that has made a habit of scouting the school’s best athletes for scholarships and sponsorship deals. Through Roque, they see an opportunity to “pinkwash” their brand and help distract from other shady dealings the company might have going on.
After sustaining an injury on the field, Roque worries it means he’ll have to miss the World Cup game. So when Olympo offers him their full, top-secret medical support and treatment, he finds it hard to say no. They only thing is, whatever they’re giving him has some weird side effects, and suddenly he can’t feel any pain at all…

We’ll stop from spoiling too much more for the time being, but suffice it to say Olympo has plenty of drama and intrigue to keep you hooked throughout its eight-episode premiere season—you know, in addition to all those sizzling scenes of ripped athlete bodies grinding up against one another.
And just as Elite turned young actors like Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, and Omar Ayuso into crush-worthy global superstars, it seems Olympo is already doing the same for Agustín Della Corte.
Funny enough, the Uruguay-born star actually was a rugby player IRL before becoming an actor, having made his international debut in 2017 at just 19, and making his first Rugby World Cup appearance just two years later.
After retiring from athletics in 2020, he pivoted to modeling and acting, scoring his first role in J.A. Bayona’s true-life survival thriller Society Of The Snow, which went on to receive two Academy Award nominations. Olympo is definitely his most high-profile role since, but it seems to indicate big things ahead for Della Corte.
If you haven’t fallen for Agustín Della Corte already, you clearly haven’t watched Olympo yet! So, what’re you waiting for?
The first season of Olympo is now streaming exclusively on Netflix. In the meantime, check otu a few more of the best shots from Della Corte Instagram grid below.
