Don’t trust your AHI, understand your sleep study report and take back control of your own health condition.

Sleep studies (also known as polysomnography studies), are very sophisticated and give a huge amount of data from each night. People are often only given a single AHI number as an overall marker of their disease severity. Personally I do NOT believe that a disease as complicated as sleep apnoea and UARS (upper airway resistance syndrome), can be defined by a single number. In this video I am going to help you understand sleep study reports so you understand what is actually going on with your own condition. You will learn about AHI, and what makes it a poor choice for understanding sleep apnoea by itself.

I fully appreciate that the YouTube algorithm will hate this video because it is so long and technical, but I really think it will help some people out there. I think it will help people who are:

1. Trying to look for an alternative to CPAP
2. Understanding why they have been told they are normal when they still feel like they have a problem
3. diagnosis of OSA and UARS
4. just for general education of their health condition

I hope you found it useful, Thank you for watching!
