YouTube comedian Randy Rainbow was a visitor on The Kelly Clarkson Present this week. He was there to advertise his upcoming tour, his look at a Joan Rivers all-star tribute, and a brand new ebook.
Rainbow (and that’s his actual final identify), spoke about his formative years and the affect his grandmother and mother had on him.
Rainbow grew up in Commack, New York. When he was 10 years outdated, his father, Gerry, a musician and expertise booker, moved the household to Plantation, Florida. Randy moved again to New York in his early 20s to pursue a theatrical profession.

Snow White
Rainbow goes on to reward his mother for encouraging and supporting his creative desires. She allowed him to play his first lead position, as Snow White, in a manufacturing in his yard when he was eight. Clarkson shares images of him in mentioned manufacturing.
“My mom was very influential in my love of musical theatre,” Rainbow continues. “She would put me to mattress with the soundtracks of Oklahoma!, The Music Man…. she needed to boost the gayest child on Lengthy Island. And he or she did!
“So I’d act out the entire components. So once I was eight years outdated I made a decision I needed to do a full-scale manufacturing of Snow White in my yard, invited all my buddies over. I solid all the women as forest creatures and the witch. And it got here time to solid the lead ingenué and I used to be the perfect one for the half,” he shrugs. “That’s showbusiness.”
He says his mother sewed his Snow White costume. It’s solely in hindsight that Rainbow appreciates how particular his mother’s help was of his theatrical passions.
“It’s particular and vital for teenagers to have that form of help,” he provides. Clarkson totally agrees, saying Snow White can be her personal son’s favourite Disney films.
