Victorian aged care provider mecwacare has acquired Allanvale Private Nursing Home, a 51-bed home in Altona Meadows.
The acquisition will extend mecwacare’s presence in Victoria’s inner west, with the not-for-profit already operating the 60-bed Altona North home, mecwacare Squires Place.
Executive general manager of Residential and Housing Services Samuel Sharma said the acquisition will ensure more people in Victoria’s west can age in the communities they know and love.

“mecwacare has been present in the Altona area since 2021, when we acquired mecwacare Squires Place. Throughout the past four years, our staff have provided high-quality, wrap-around care to our residents, ensuring they can stay close to their local community,” said Mr Sharma.
“We are grateful to Allanvale Private Nursing Home for entrusting mecwacare to continue providing essential aged care services to residents in Altona Meadows. We look forward to working with staff, residents and their families to ensure a smooth transition to mecwacare Allanvale,” he added.
The home is dementia-friendly and equipped for general residential care, palliative care and respite services.
Executive general manager of strategy and transformation James Cramond said it is a key part of mecwacare’s growth plans and marks a significant step in the organisation’s growth strategy.

“It reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting the increasing demand for high-quality aged care services in this rapidly growing region, while expanding our footprint so that we can support more older Australians to live with dignity, comfort and care,” Mr Cramond said.
