“Big Ol’ Hammer” by G Flip
G Flip is wielding a “Big Ol’ Hammer,” and they’re not afraid to use it. The Australian nonbinary singer’s new single is a thumping and unabashedly queer bop with some not-so-veiled references to LGBTQ+ hookups, feeling hot, and finding someone to make you “feel like a man, goddamn.” Naturally, the video follows G and a crew of queer influencers working hard in a mechanic shop, until they’re interrupted by a hilarious Fortune Feimster cameo.
“RIP KP” by King Princess
King Princess is currently starring alongside Christine Baranski and Nicole Kidman on Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, but she’s also no more. At least, that’s what the title of her new single, “RIP KP,” seems to intimate. The thumping and breathy banger is “a slutty anthem for the lesbians,” the 26-year-old said in a statement, that describes the chaos of falling in love and “acting a fool” in, erm, every bedroom in the house. We think it sounds like 2 A.M. at a red-lit club, in the best way possible.
“My My My” by Kevin Atwater
Gay singer-songwriter Kevin Atwater is known for his pensive and often heartbroken acoustic ballads on TikTok, so it’s only fitting that his Pride-timed cover of Troye Sivan‘s “My My My!” sounds similarly dreamy and somber. Once a celebratory exclamation, the chorus now plays like a wonderstruck confession. As he wrote on Instagram, “This is the song that turned me gay when I heard it the first time, so I’m doing the same for you.”
“Back Home Boy” by Andrew Mitch
The gays finally have their own “Barefoot Blue Jean Night!” It’s “Back Home Boy,” the newest single from LGBTQ+ country singer Andrew Mitch, and it’s got all the hallmarks of a windows-down-in-the-truck staple: Friday night callouts, guitar solos, promises to “show you everything about how I was raised,” and clever wordplay. With a deep, rich voice and some classic country production, Mitch might have you digging those Wranglers out of the drawer quicker than you can say, “back home boy.”
“End of the World” by Mikayla Pasterfield
We’ve never heard anyone evoke the nostalgia of a hometown you’ve outgrown (and the people within it), quite like rising queer singer-songwriter Mikayla Pasterfield. On “End of the World,” the latest single from her debut EP Heritage Listed (out today), she twists a metaphor about two women cast in ash in Pompeii into an ultimatum to a lover afraid to admit their feelings: “Would you need the end of the world to admit that you have something to say?”
“Jetski” by Young Miko & Randy
As one of Puerto Rican trap’s most promising artists, Young Miko offers her cosign to Randy (and cozies up to his ladies) on this lackadaisical and breezy bop, appropriately titled “Jetski.” There’s sunshine, skin, good vibes, and the irresistible urge to sway.
