Aged care providers Scalabrini Communities, Proveda and Warrigal have been honoured with best workplace awards by Xref Engage – an HR tech platform that offers surveys and tools to collect and analyse employee feedback.
Warrigal also received the Change Champion Award.
The Best Workplace Awards recognise criteria such as employee engagement, effective leadership practices and positive workplace culture, and the results are based of staff engagement surveys.
Warrigal chief executive officer Jenni Hutchins told Australian Ageing Agenda their results indicated an increase across all survey questions.

“We’re really honoured to be recognised as a Best Workplace and Change Champion by Xref Engage,” said Ms Hutchins.
“Our message to our people is that their voice matters and we want to hear what matters to them as, year on year, we want to improve our approach to caring for and engaging with our staff. Our people care about their workplace, and they believe their voice will be heard. That kind of trust doesn’t happen overnight, and it’s something we work hard to earn every day,” she added.
“To me, these awards aren’t just something to celebrate, they are a reminder to stay focused on what matters most: creating a place where people feel supported, respected and part of something bigger. When we do that well, it shows up in the way we care for older people, and that’s what it’s all about.”
This is the third consecutive year that Scalabrini has won the Best Workplace Award, scoring 84.2 per cent on employee satisfaction.
Scalabrini CEO Richard de Haast said they were thrilled to be recognised for a third time.

“This is an outstanding achievement and recognises how the team continuously explores new ways to help our team members feel connected and that they belong in our Scalabrini Communities. This resonates deeply with the team as shown by our 9 per cent labour turnover compared to the 30-40 per cent in the aged care sector.”
Proveda CEO Kaz Dawson told AAA the award was a testament to the culture they had built together, and that every single person in the team had played a role in shaping the workforce into what it is today.

“Building a great workplace doesn’t happen by chance. It takes the right people, shared values, and a commitment to supporting each other every step of the way. A few years ago, we were faced with some tough challenges – dissatisfaction, low morale, and high turnover. But we were determined to turn things around and create a place where people feel valued, supported, and excited to come to work,” she said.
Ms Dawson added that she is “so proud” of how far Proveda has come and “even more excited for what lies ahead.
