Home care provider survey now open

Australian Ageing Agenda and provider peak body Ageing Australia are both launching invitations to stakeholders on Wednesday 11 March to gather industry data on the business impact of Support at Home.

As announced in January, AAA and The Catalyst Report teamed up to gather feedback on the challenges of the government’s new home care regime via the Provider Pulse Survey.

The short survey (link at the bottom) is hosted by The Catalyst Report and designed to avoid asking providers to share confidential business information.

Feedback is sought on whether inquiries have increased or decreased since 1 November, rather than the number of inquiries received.

Similar questions are asked about conversion, churn, staff turnover and so on. Participants can also comment on the main business challenge at their organisation.

Australian Ageing Agenda will publish high-level results next month to give an early read of industry pain points.

Participants can compare with peers

The Catalyst Report will give participating organisations more detailed feedback, placing providers on anonymised charts so they can see how their circumstances compare with peers, said Kevin McCreton, founder of The Catalyst Report.

“It will be helpful for many Support at Home executives to learn if they are in the top or bottom quartile of pain for regulatory changes that have been thrust upon the industry,” Mr McCreton told AAA.

The study findings also aim to assist Ageing Australia’s conversations with the Federal Government and guide Support at Home changes, he said.

“It’s a great opportunity for many sides of the industry to work towards a common goal of provider sustainability and improving outcomes for older Australians,” Mr McCreton said.

The Catalyst Report is a series of studies documenting consumer feedback for the home care, residential aged care and retirement living sectors that began with home care insights in 2017.
