Gemma Barker has dedicated more than 20 years to dentistry, working client side, publisher side and, for over 15 years as a Dental PR agency owner. She has been Managing Director of Barker PR for 11 years, a healthcare communications agency with a special focus on dentistry and oral health.
Much of Barker PR’s work is centred on helping brands, professional bodies and charities build trusted relationships with the dental profession, shaping reputation through education and authentic, purpose-driven campaigns. Barker PR has sponsored the Dental Industry Awards for five years, after winning Best Use of PR for three consecutive years, and we are a committed member of the BDIA.
Gemma has managed corporate partnerships across the UK, EMEA and global markets, including EMS in the UK and Switzerland as well as advisory work with the dental charity Bridge2Aid, alongside many other leading dental brands such as W&H, Agilio, Closer Still and vVardis. These relationships have kept Gemma and her team closely connected to the issues shaping prevention, behaviour change, public health messaging and professional education.
