Resthaven marks progress on $100m care campus
South Australian aged care provider Resthaven is making progress on its new $100 million Marion campus, with construction of the Marion Community Wellness Centre on track to be completed in early November.
An official opening for the wellness centre is planned for early 2027.
The campus – which spans more than eight acres – will feature the wellness centre alongside a new 150-bed residential aged care home, due to be completed in 2028.
Resthaven Marion Community Services and Resthaven Community Respite Services will relocate to the new centre, with the latter hosting an on-site day respite program and facilitating other respite services, including overnight and in-home respite services at other locations.
It also features 12 allied health treatment rooms, a fully equipped gym and multi-purpose spaces for activities, programs and community events, while a large kitchen will support cooking classes, demonstrations and social activities.
Resthaven chief executive officer Darren Birbeck said the new Community Wellness Centre has been designed around a holistic approach to wellbeing, in recognition that staying connected, active and engaged is an important part of ageing well.

“It represents an exciting new chapter for Resthaven and the local community – a community that we have been a part of since Resthaven Marion was established in 1974,” he said.
The campus is located adjacent to the existing Resthaven Marion Retirement Living village and, once completed, will enhance the provider’s existing continuum of aged care services by bringing retirement living, allied health, home support services and 24/7 residential care together onto one site.
