With mouth cancer cases rising, this November’s Mouth Cancer Action Month is an opportunity for dental teams to start vital conversations with patients and raise awareness in their communities.

To help professionals and practice teams get involved, the Oral Health Foundation is hosting a webinar on Monday 2 November 2026, from 7.30–8.30pm (UK time), offering practical ideas and guidance for supporting this year’s campaign.

Hosted by the charity’s Director of Communications, David Arnold, the webinar will help attendees plan activities that work for their team and the people they reach. Whether you want to make more of everyday patient conversations, organise team activities or share awareness messages online, the session will explore how campaign resources can support your efforts throughout November.

David says: “Dental teams have a vital role to play in helping people understand mouth cancer and the importance of early detection. You don’t need a big event or a huge budget to get involved. A conversation with a patient can be a powerful starting point.”

Alongside these practical ideas, attendees will hear an overview of the current picture of mouth cancer, including trends, risk factors, inequalities and the importance of early detection. The session will connect these issues with the conversations dental teams have with patients every day.

The webinar will also explore how supporters can help turn evidence into policy change. An introduction to the campaign’s policy report will cover its key findings and recommendations, with guidance on actions attendees can take, including engaging their local MP.

Dental professionals, practice teams and oral health advocates are invited to attend, whether they are new to Mouth Cancer Action Month or looking for fresh ideas to build on previous activity.
