Meaningful Ageing Australia welcomes Reuben Jacob to its Board

Meaningful Ageing Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Reuben Jacob as a Director of the Board, filling the casual vacancy following the departure of Cathryn McMillan.

Reuben is Chief Executive Officer of Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA), where he works with the aged care sector to strengthen capability and improve care through innovation, evidence and research translation. He brings extensive experience in strategy, executive management, business development, stakeholder engagement, commercialisation, operations and research across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Meaningful Ageing Australia Chair Paul Sadler welcomed Reuben’s appointment.

Reuben brings a valuable combination of sector leadership, strategic insight and a strong commitment to improving the experience of ageing in Australia. We are delighted to welcome him to the Board and look forward to the contribution he will make to our work and future direction.”

The Board also acknowledged Cathryn McMillan’s contribution to Meaningful Ageing Australia, including her passion for spiritual care, holistic support, good end-of-life care and supporting older people, families and those who care for them.

Reuben’s appointment comes at an important time for Meaningful Ageing Australia as it continues to champion the social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of older people and support aged care organisations to embed meaningful, person-centred approaches to care.
