Victoria Police have arrested a 49-year-old woman following a burglary in Sunbury this morning – with officer locating the woman hiding in the roof of a house.
In a statement, Victoria Police said officers were called to reports of a woman breaking into an abandoned property on Horne Street at about 1.30am.
“Police arrived within minutes and entered the property, locating a 49-year-old woman allegedly hiding in the roof,” Police said.
“A toolbox and multiple piles of copper were allegedly located and seized in the hallway.”
The Port Melbourne woman was arrested and charged with burglary, going equipped to steal, trespass and possess controlled weapon.
She was bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 4 January 2027.
