Resources to prepare for personal care changes
Ahead of personal care services transitioning into clinical care services under Support at Home on 1 October, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has published a collection of resources to help providers prepare.
The change means that Support at Home clients will no longer need to pay a co-contribution for assistance with showering, dressing and continence services.
The resources include a checklist, playbook and stakeholder kit.
The provider readiness checklist is divided into two phases, with each explaining how providers can:
- make sure their organisation, ICT, stakeholders and participants are prepared
- apply the required changes, resolve issues and monitor performance.
The checklist also includes an implementation timeline leading up to 1 October and until December.
The stakeholder kit for providers includes an email template with guidance on how to use it and when to send it, a section on answers to frequently asked questions and instructional guidance on key messages.
