Stroud Community Care is getting ready to reopen the doors of Bulahdelah Community Lodge after it spent four years offline.
Located in regional New South Wales, the home – formerly known as Cedar Wharf Lodge – was purchased by Stroud Community Care in 2024 and following a successful funding application and redevelopment program, the home is nearly ready to welcome residents.
The refurbishment will expand the home’s capacity to 33 beds and will see it transformed into a contemporary aged care environment. The project also restores an essential local service at a time of growing demand for residential aged care services.
The redevelopment marks an important step in strengthening aged care services in the region, said Stroud Community Care chairperson Karen Hutchinson.
“The project is about restoring local access to quality care, providing a modern environment and ensuring older members of our community can remain connected to the people and places they know. We are committed to creating an environment that meets the needs of today’s residents while supporting the long-term sustainability of aged care services in the region,” she said.
The home is hoping to open its doors in mid-2026.
